Executive Directors Through Time

Over the years, our leadership structure has evolved with varying levels of support. While some years saw entirely volunteer management, others had full-time employees like Ms. Yoho. Additionally, we have also had executive management as 1099 contractors.

Although records of leaders during the 1970s-1980s are sparse, our longest-serving advocate, Mr. John Myers, joined us in the mid-1980s. While he doesn’t recall many names, he shares that most of them have since passed on.

“Literacy is a bridge from misery to hope. It is a tool for daily life in modern society. It is a bulwark against poverty, and a building block of development. Literacy is the road to human progress and the means through which every man, woman and child can realize his or her full potential.”
