Our virtual literacy lab continues today with “Reading Breakdown: Four Keys”.

All of our learners come to us with unique stories! But adults who struggle with reading all share some common traits. Isolated, each indicator may not mean anything. When grouped together over time though, a pattern emerges.
Follow along each week as we list out some common traits you’ll notice in adults who struggle with reading.

Each learner comes for different reasons.
But, for all of them, courage shines through.
We can’t share their identity…
But we can share their heart!
Here’s a spotlight on just one of our learners:
“Elderly female seeking to overcome word stumbling. Previously enrolled in our program, she calls us her “school.” Relies on others to write things down, such as rent statements and money orders, and desires greater independence in managing essential life tasks. Lacks kids but loves her dolls.”
Our monthly council meeting is next Wednesday, Aug. 16, at 6:30 pm. Meetings are open to the public, and we love to hear feedback from the community and from our tutors.
