Today we are celebrating 55 years of literacy service to the midlands!
Join us from 4-8 pm at River’s Edge Retreat for a laid back BBQ poolside fundraiser. There will be plenty of indoor space and shade. Pelican’s Snoball will be onsite with free treats from 5-6 pm. Tickets are $25 per person or $75 for a family of 4.
In honor of our founding year, today’s playlist will feature hits from 1968.

But, for all of them, courage shines through.
We can’t share their identity…
But we can share their heart!
Here’s a spotlight on just one of our learners:
“Born in Alabama and with just a 10th-grade education, this 50something female seeks a less physically demanding work and improve her spelling. With a background in manufacturing, she has a keen interest in singing and solving crosswords. She just finished her GED and has an impressive internalized vocabulary but aims to enhance her phonics abilities to further her learning journey.”
